Dr. Ben Karim

Dr Ben Karim graduated from the University of Sydney in 2003 with his undergraduate Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Hons) before spending 3 years in public general dental practice. He then entered specialist training, completing a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in 2010. His post-graduate treatise was on the epidemiology of bisphosphate use in the general dental setting. He has since held a Dental Specialist, Oral Medicine position at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and the Sydney Dental Hospital (2010-2020) where he was also Acting Head of the Special Needs Dentistry Department (2017). He is currently a Staff Specialist and Head of the Department of Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology at Westmead Hospital. He holds an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer position with the University of Sydney where he is heavily involved in the Oral Medicine specialist training program and undergraduate teaching, as well as being a Specialist Assessor for the Australian Dental Council, a member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, full Member of the Oral Medicine Academy of Australasia, and a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
